#3 - Difference Between Feelings & Emotions

Ashley Bishop Says...

Dax how do you describe the difference between a feeling and an emotion?

PS - which if either works better threat recipes or threat scales?

  • Galen Lundin

    They’re different

  • Ashley Bishop

They are indeed, I just wondered if there was an order in which to do them or one which has greater impact than the other. When working with my clients stress is a big factor and I didn’t want to throw both tasks at a client at once to overwhelm them

  • Dax Moy

Emotions are non cognitive, pre-verbal, amygdala-driven responses to environmental inputs.

Feelings come secondary to emotions and involve the cognitive processing of what those emotions mean.

Emotions are SENSORY meaning they ‘live’ in the body as a result of ‘reading’ the external environment.

    Feelings are MENTAL constructs
